'Blood Game X' contestant Lee Kwan-hee, who was unfortunately eliminated, shared his thoughts on being eliminated.
On the 11th, in a written interview, Lee Kwan-hee revealed in detail why he first attempted a survival variety show as a rookie (R) team player, his feelings about being eliminated, his impressions after actually experiencing 'Blood Game X', and the players he supports.
That day Lee Kwan-hee said, "It was a short time, but I think I showed the image I had in mind, so it was an enjoyable journey," while also adding, "When I headed to the second death match I intended to prove my skills and come back alive, but looking back now, avoiding it might have been the wisest choice," expressing frank feelings that drew laughs.
In particular, regarding the attention on his relationship with Choi Hye-seon, who was crowned a "final couple" on Single's Inferno season 3 and reunited with him after a long time during his appearance on 'Blood Game X', he said, "If I had survived longer there would have been many more interesting scenes, which is a shame."
Regarding rising as a "new talent in the survival world" by leading the game with Shin Seung-yong and Choi Yeon-cheong in the first death match, he said, "Even if I lacked ability compared with (Choi) Yeon-cheong and (Shin) Seung-yong, I had confidence in my leadership, so my attempts to help teammates seemed to be seen positively," while also showing humility by saying, "Because a teammate was eliminated, ultimately it is my responsibility."
Lee Kwan-hee also chose Lee Tae-gyun of Team P1 as the most impressive player, praising him, "He has outstanding stats across the board and is a likable player with good manners."
Meanwhile, Lee Kwan-hee recently confirmed a romantic relationship with Yoo Si-eun, who appeared with him on Netflix's Single's Inferno 3.
Below is a verbatim interview with Lee Kwan-hee
Q. You were unfortunately eliminated before the full survival in the mansion began. Please share your thoughts.
A. The result is regrettable, but I think I showed the image I had in mind during the short time. It was an enjoyable journey.
Q. From the start you fell to the external survival site and went through two death matches, making it a first survival challenge full of hardships.
A. I did not expect to have death matches consecutively. Even so, I have no regrets about not actively appealing during the death match nomination vote. I went to the second death match by my own will because I intended to prove my skills and come back alive. But looking back now, avoiding it seems to have been the wisest choice (laughs).
Q. In the first death match "mosaic puzzle," your natural leadership of Team R and leading the game strategy was impressive, and there was an explosive reaction that "a new talent has appeared in the survival world."
A. Because I had left (Gwak) Beom-hyung at the external survival site, I had to lead the team to victory. Even if I was less capable than (Choi) Yeon-cheong and (Shin) Seung-yong, I had confidence in my leadership, so my efforts to help teammates, however insufficient, seemed to be seen positively. But because a teammate (Choi Yeon-cheong) was eliminated, it is ultimately my responsibility.
Q. In the second death match "3rd floor omok" against P2 team player Hyun Seong-ju, you somewhat regrettably lost.
A. I regret a lot about the content of the death match with Seong-ju, but I have no regrets about my play. I was simply lacking. I will continue to practice steadily and wait, preparing for the chance to come again someday.
Q. Throughout the broadcast episodes the relationship with P3 team member Choi Hye-seon drew attention. What are your thoughts about reuniting with Choi Hye-seon after a long time through 'Blood Game X'?
A. It is a shame — if I had survived longer there would have been many fun scenes with Hye-seon.
Q. Is there anything you want to say to the R team members who suffered together from the first day?
A. Because we went straight to the external survival site on the first day, we actually grew closer, and even in a short time a deep bond formed. I want to tell them all thank you.
Q. As someone watching 'Blood Game X' alongside others, who is the most impressive player?
A. Lee Tae-gyun of Team P1. He is a likable player with outstanding stats across the board and good manners. Because there are few strong rivals, I think he can definitely win, so I have been consistently cheering for him.
Q. After actually experiencing 'Blood Game X,' what do you think is the program's biggest attraction?
A. It has various attractions as the only program where you can watch not only brain battles but also physical and psychological warfare all at once.
Q. Lastly, please give a message to 'Blood Game X' viewers.
A. The remaining episodes will contain much more diverse content and many unpredictable scenes, so please enjoy watching until the end and give the players lots of support.
