Actor An Jin-su, who was active in Korean films and TV drama in the 1970s through the 1990s, died on the 10th. He was 81.
On the 11th, the entertainment industry said the deceased underwent pancreatic cancer surgery two years ago. Then, earlier this year the cancer recurred and his health deteriorated while he was receiving treatment.
He was born in 1945 and appeared in MBC drama "Eyes of Dawn" (1991~1992) and SBS drama "Sandglass" (1995), "Women of the Palace" (2001~2002) and other works, maintaining steady activity on the small screen.
He also played a detective in Kang Woo-seok's "Two Cops" series and a newspaper company president in Kim Tae-gyu's "Emergency Measure No. 19" (2002), among other roles, acting as a scene-stealing supporting actor in films as well.
In addition, he appeared in some 300 films, leaving an impression on the public, including Bae Chang-ho's "Our Happy Young Days" (1987), Kang Woo-seok's "Happiness Is Not Determined by Grades" (1989), "Two Cops" (1993), "Killing the Wife" (1994), Im Kwon-taek's "Taebaek Mountains" (1994), and Moon Jong-geum's "The Fighting Father" (2001).
The wake was set up in Funeral Hall 3 at Seoul Central Veterans Hospital. The funeral procession is at 6:30 a.m. on the 13th.
