Former baseball player Oh Seung-hwan revealed he owns as much as 1,000 don of gold, surprising many.
On the 10th, tvN STORY's Table Tales featured South Korean baseball legends Choo Shin-soo, Kim Byung-hyun and Oh Seung-hwan, who candidly discussed everything from their playing days to their assets and families.
That day Pak Se-ri opened by saying to Oh Seung-hwan, "I heard you're rich in gold." When Choo Shin-soo also asked, "Do you have about 100 don?" Oh Seung-hwan answered, to everyone's surprise, "I have about 1,000 don," which was a much larger amount than expected.
There was a special story behind how Oh Seung-hwan came to have so much gold. He explained, "When I reached 400 saves the team prepared 400 don, and when I had 47 saves they gave me a 470-don gold baseball. When I retired last year I also received a 100-don gold trophy." All were meaningful gifts received to commemorate major milestones in his playing career. Upon hearing the value of 1,000 don, Kim Byung-hyun expressed astonishment, saying, "About 800 million won."
Oh Seung-hwan, who welcomed his second son in April, showed a fatherly side when asked who he would pass the gold to, replying, "I will divide it between my two children."
