'Gen Z美' group KiiiKiii (Jiyu, I-sol, Sui, Ha-eum, Kiya) returns with a Gen Z美-filled summer song.
KiiiKiii will release their third mini album 'WhyKiiiKiii (Waikiki)' at 6 p.m. on the 10th (KST) on various music sites and begin full-fledged comeback activities.
'WhyKiiiKiii' was inspired by the world-renowned resort 'Waikiki' and poses the question 'why KiiiKiii', delivering the answer in the most KiiiKiii way.
A representative said the album will not only showcase KiiiKiii's unique color and sensibility, but also freely cross the boundaries of genre and concept based on an expanded musical spectrum.
The album contains six tracks in total, including the title track 'Pop Off Pop Off', 'Ever2Late!', 'Hey Hi', 'SWEET SOUR', 'Candy Pink Magic Hole Flip Phone (What do I do)', and 'Blue Hour'.
They weave different genres such as electronic pop, hyperpop and synth pop into a single flow with the members' distinctive vocals and flexible delivery, proving infinite potential as a team building their own world through musical attempts that are not bound by existing K-pop conventions.
The title track 'Pop Off Pop Off' is an electronic synth-pop based on intense synth sounds, blending sensuous beats with an addictive chorus that lingers after one listen. Added to this are lyrics evoking the image of a hot summer, such as "so hot it seems like it will tear" and "a self-willed sandcastle," along with KiiiKiii's quirky and cheerful wit, completing a KiiiKiii-style summer song you will want to sing along to.
From music to performance and concept, KiiiKiii has hinted at an even stronger 'Gen Z美' even before the release. Through 'WhyKiiiKiii', they are expected to unfold KiiiKiii's own summer.
