Big Bang, celebrating their 20th anniversary since debut, will hold a large-scale festival on the 19th ahead of their comeback in four years that invites fans and the public to participate together.
On the 10th, YG Entertainment said Big Bang will hold special 20th anniversary events from the 14th to the 23rd around the Jamsil area of Songpa District, Seoul. A variety of programs are planned, from media exhibitions to an MD shop and lighting events at Seokchon Lake.
At the AvenueL Jamsil art hall on the sixth floor, a media exhibition will be held under the supervision of Creative MUT, offering a look at the archive of activities and behind-the-scenes of performances from the past 20 years. In connection with this, an MD shop will operate on basement level 1 of Lotte World Mall, and limited-edition desserts created in collaboration with a famous bakery will also be available.
On the fifth-floor bridge connecting AvenueL and Lotte World Mall, an experiential space visualizing the project's core theme, "cosmos (COSMOS)," will be created. When visitors write support messages on a tablet, they will be converted into an "Arecibo Code" sent into space and realized as a special media art piece.
With support from Songpa District, a lighting event shaped like Big Bang's "bang bong (light stick)" will take place at Dongho of Seokchon Lake and the waterside stage area. Special lights will turn on at 8:19 p.m., the time of their debut anniversary, and a "bang bong crown" sculpture will be installed on the waterside stage and used as a photo spot for fans to take verification shots.
Meanwhile, Big Bang will release a new digital single, [BiiiG], at 6 p.m. on the 19th. Through this new song, which fully embodies the team's identity, attention is focused on what resonance the group will create in the global music market as they return to the music scene after a long absence.
