The film "Gyeongju trip" released a "revenge map illustration poster" that piques the curiosity of prospective viewers.
The film "Gyeongju trip" (screenplay/director: Kim Mi-jo, provided by: Lotte Entertainment, Michigan Venture Capital Co., Ltd., distributed by: Lotte Entertainment, produced by: Studio High Five, co-produced by: Euphoria ENT) revealed a "revenge map illustration poster" containing mysterious Gyeongju landscapes and scattered clues that stimulate curiosity about the film.
"Gyeongju trip" is a family revenge drama of four mothers and daughters who, for the youngest daughter "Gyeongju," who did not return from a school trip, embark on a "killer" journey after eight years of waiting. This "revenge map illustration poster" is the work of artist Yeon Yeo-in, who gained attention for the poster of No Other Choice, and features detailed sketches centered on Cheomseongdae, a landmark of Gyeongju.
First, the four mothers and daughters wearing matching uniforms with the names "mother," "first," "second," and "third" engraved on their backs, and the props in their hands such as bags, ropes, file documents, and sickles, and the snake crawling at their feet, contrast with warm pastel tones and further emphasize the film's ironic atmosphere and multilayered charm.
In addition, the poster harmonizes elements symbolizing Gyeongju — including Donggung and Wolji, Bonghwangdae, the Seokguram Buddha statue, the Seongdeok Daewang Sinjong bell, the Seokgatap pagoda, the Silla golden crown spanning mountain peaks, as well as Hwangnam bread and flame creeper — capturing the beautiful and mysterious atmosphere of Gyeongju. The unidentified clues placed throughout maximize curiosity about what on earth is happening in Gyeongju.
In particular, interspersed among the peaceful scenery are images that draw attention, such as a girl in a school uniform, a man pulling a suitcase while holding a child's hand, the four mothers and daughters moving in raincoats, luggage and a camera left in the forest, a hangover soup pot and a hammer, all arranged like a "treasure hunt." Added to this are a patrol car on duty and the four mothers and daughters' yellow van roaming around Gyeongju, creating an unusual atmosphere and raising expectations for the film's unpredictable developments and unique tone and manner.
Meanwhile, "Gyeongju trip" opens on the 26th.
