'Founder of Joseon pop' Seodo Band (sEODo BAND) is about to release an album that will mark a new starting point.
On the 9th, the documentary film for the first full-length album "One," released on Seodo Band's official YouTube channel, featured stories about the process of the vocalist and session musicians continuing to work in their respective roles, the meaning of the album title and the album artwork. This album is the band's first full-length album released nine years after their formation. Seodo said, "Perhaps because there has been physical time, Seodo Band has developed its own wisdom musically and in the way we live," and added, "I thought that by now it might be good to challenge a full-length album, so we started making it. It's the most fun I've had among the projects we've done so far," expressing anticipation.
Kim Tae-ju described it as "a new starting point that, while summarizing Seodo Band's past times, also moves forward," and Yeon Tae-hee said, "Although the first full-length album may seem to have taken a while, I think this is the most appropriate time. It is a work that can show Seodo Band's music most completely."
In particular, Seodo Band introduced the album saying, "We have a small hope that this could become an important step in Korean music history. We also feel an expectation that our album will become more valuable as time goes by."
A representative explained, "Seodo Band's first full-length album One is both the consolidated result of the musical world of 'Joseon pop,' the unique genre they pioneered, and an album like the footprints of the nine-year journey they have walked."
This album weaves major passages of the pansori Chunhyangga into five tracks, and Seodo Band aims to establish the identity of Joseon pop by reinterpreting all tracks with sensuous pop sounds.
