Actor Yoo Hai Jin praised Park Hae-il's gaze.
On the morning of the 10th at CGV Yongsan iPark Mall in Guro-gu, Seoul, a production briefing was held for the film 'Assassin(s)' (director Heo Jin-ho). Actors Yoo Hai Jin, Park Hae-il, Lee Minho and director Heo Jin-ho attended the briefing and spoke.
The film 'Assassin(s)', set to be released this Chuseok, is a story that traces the suspicions and masterminds behind the first lady shooting incident on Aug. 15, 1974, which shocked Korea.
When asked about the chemistry among the actors that day, Yoo Hai Jin said, "It's been a long time since I met (Park Hae-il). We worked together on 'Moss' before. Since then I've always envied Hae-il's eyes. I think they deepened even more this time while working with him."
Earlier, Yoo Hai Jin, who also praised the gaze of junior Park Jihoon in the previous film 'The King's Warden', lavishly praised Park Hae-il's gaze, saying, "There is determination you can feel from his eyes. Energy. I've always envied that, honestly. Even while acting this time I was able to see that look on set for the first time in a long while."
He continued, "This was Lee Minho's first time, and he is really smart. Not only when acting, but even in everyday conversations about his views, there were many things I listened to attentively. It was a very good set."
Hearing this, Park Hae-il awkwardly said, "Snake eyes, why..." drawing laughter. He spoke of Yoo Hai Jin, "Since 'Moss' his work has been incredible. Just seeing him makes you feel so reassured. It was an honor to meet again on a project after a long time; there were so many things I learned that it's hard to list them. Whether it's the Joseon era or the 1970s, he has a realism that fits the period, so he was reassuring. He accepted freely even when many actors, including Minho, improvised, which made things very comfortable. I gained a lot," expressing his respect.
Lee Minho also said, "I was happier than I can say," adding, "Aren't they two of the most respected seniors in Korea? What I felt while working was that dignity that starts from character ultimately makes a good actor. For the first time on set I was able to feel that sense of stability from the director and fully act with it." he said, conveying the reassuring seniors and the close-knit atmosphere on set.
