Actor Yoo Hai Jin expressed his feelings about presenting his next work during the Chuseok holiday following the Lunar New Year holiday.
On the 10th in the morning at CGV Yongsan iPark Mall in Guro-gu, Seoul, a production presentation was held for the film 'Assassin(s)' (director Heo Jin-ho). Actors Yoo Hai Jin, Park Hae-il, Lee Minho and director Heo Jin-ho attended the production presentation and spoke.
The film 'Assassin(s)', set to be released this Chuseok, traces the suspicions and those behind the assassination attempt on the first lady that shocked Korea on Aug. 15, 1974.
Yoo Hai Jin led more than 16 million moviegoers with the film 'The King's Warden' (director Jang Hang-jun), which opened ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday this Feb., breaking the record to become the second-highest at the box office. As a result, Yoo Hai Jin, who now has as many as five films with more than 10 million viewers, was asked how he felt about joining the holiday release battle once again and joked, "I'm happy to come back during the holidays."
He said, "In the past there were actors who came to mind when you thought of the holidays. So many people who I couldn't imagine would watch at Seollal watched, and of course, right now I also hope 'Assassin(s)' does the same, but as you know, everything has to line up just right. Until then we'll just work hard and after that I don't know. I hope this film will be seen by many people in proportion to the effort and suffering put into it," he said candidly.
He continued, "Fortunately, these days theaters, to use that expression from before, seem to have regained some color, which feels good, and I only hope that color improves more," and added, "I don't know which work will make people laugh, but it might give audiences the chance to choose. It will be nice to have a reason to go to the movies after a while," expressing hope for a positive impact on the Korean film industry.
Park Hae-il, asked about his feelings on joining the holiday release battle again after the 2022 release 'Hansan: Rising Dragon', said, "Even if it's not a holiday, I'm nervous to present a work after four years. The fact that Korean films are once again greeting audiences with a variety of offerings feels like a pleasant opportunity I haven't felt in a long time, especially since I'm in one of those works. I think many viewers first need to come to the theater for us to make our film known," he said.
Lee Minho appealed, "Each film wants to tell different stories and has different genres, so I hope people watch them all, and I hope ours is the first one they choose to watch," adding to the laughter.<
