HYBE subsidiary label ABD rookie girl group TUIDE is drawing strong interest from global music fans even before their debut.
On the 10th, the agency said TUIDE's official TikTok account surpassed 1 million followers on the 7th, just six days after posting its first video. This is an unusual achievement accomplished solely through word of mouth about the music and performance, without common promotions such as detailed member profiles, auditions, or pre-debut reality shows.
At the center of this buzz is TUIDE's distinctive, sensuous performance. The choreography video for "GRLS," a track on mini album 1 [TUNE & PLAY], is recording explosive views on TikTok. It also easily surpassed 4 million views on YouTube within two days of release, landing at No. 3 on Korea's daily popular music videos and on the rising music charts.
Based on house dance and blending diverse genres such as hip-hop and soul, the "GRLS" performance showcases the members' personalities distinctly. Beginning with solos and extending into units and full-group formations, the flow and passing of parts create a "self-introduction" style choreography that feels fresh. In particular, the rhythmic steps and dynamic formation changes perfectly harmonize with the song's groove, delivering visual pleasure.
At the preview event [PLAYGROUND] held on the 1st and 2nd, TUIDE showed confidence by pre-releasing performances of all the album tracks. They will formally launch into the music industry on the 24th at 6 p.m. with the title track "SUN KISS." Having announced a strong start on talent alone, attention is on what kind of impact they will have going forward.
