Pop star Britney Spears (44) confessed she suffered the pain of drooping eyelids due to a severe Botox side effect and, while shedding tears, expressed guilt toward her children.
On the 8th (Korea time), Britney Spears shared an update about experiencing Botox procedure side effects along with a video of herself in a bikini on her social media.
In the released video, Spears pointed to the area around her left eye and said "the doctor put too much Botox on my left eye, so my eye hung down like this," adding, "My eye had been drooping for four weeks. Until just a moment ago my eye was down, and I felt so ashamed."
She went on to strongly warn fans, "You really have to be careful with doctors who perform procedures. They can completely ruin your face and body. Your body is yours, so you must protect it yourself." Spears previously declared she would stop Botox after saying that a Botox procedure in 2023 left bruising on her face and prevented her from going out for two weeks.
Along with the physical pain about her appearance came a heartbreaking confession about her children and family. Spears posted old photos of her two sons, Sean Preston (20) and Jayden (19), on X (formerly Twitter) the same day and wrote a desperate message saying, "I feel like I failed as a mother."
She said her heart broke when one of her sons said, "I don't believe in God," and apologized, "I want to tell my children and everyone that I'm sorry for my past mistakes."
She particularly recalled the memory of her parents, Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, secretly taking her children to the beach and spending private time with them without her knowledge, saying, "I felt morally ashamed that my parents were living a secret life with my children, and I knelt and cried for two months," expressing her grievance. Recalling the period when she was deprived of freedom under the conservatorship system, she confessed that "I couldn't be myself for a long time and was exploited," revealing wounds that still remain deep in her heart.
Meanwhile, Britney Spears, who was freed from her father's conservatorship in 2021 after 13 years, recently received a 12-month suspended sentence and a treatment order on charges of reckless driving. Despite the trials, she added her resolve toward recovery, saying, "I want to get closer to God again and dream like I used to."
