Group Blackpink member Jeesoo directly apologized for the noise surrounding the 10th anniversary event.
Jeesoo said on the 8th on the fan communication platform, "I think this anniversary is a day filled with a lot of apology," expressing regret over the confusion related to the 10th anniversary event.
Jeesoo said, "Hello, BLINK! Time has passed and it has already been 10 years since I debuted as Blackpink. This anniversary is a day filled with a lot of apology."
She continued, "Over the 10 years as Blackpink and as Jeesoo there have been many things, but I always wanted to show only good sides and to be someone who brings happiness in hard moments, but many BLINKs are upset so my heart is heavy," she confessed.
Then Jeesoo emphasized, "But I have not forgotten that it is BLINK who made Blackpink shine like this," and added, "10th anniversary! Thank you for celebrating and I am sorry once again for causing such great disappointment. I always want to say I am grateful and I love you."
Finally, she said, "You must be very upset… I hope there remains a place where a small sincere feeling can fit inside," showing empathy for the fans.
Blackpink will meet fans at a location in Seoul on the 8th. Having officially debuted on Aug. 8, 2016, and marking their 10th anniversary, they will hold a fan event, "Meet & Greet," to commemorate it. The event will be attended by 40 fans randomly selected from Blackpink membership subscribers.
Earlier, reports said Rosé was spotted in the U.S. and that Lisa might not attend, but upon confirmation none of that was true. Rosé had cleared her schedule in advance to prioritize this meaningful moment with fans, and Lisa's attendance was also confirmed.
