Kwan Entertainment, the agency of singers Haha and Skull, issued an official statement regarding the controversy over their appearance at a festival amid the drought in the Miryang region.
Recently, while the Miryang area has been experiencing severe drought, some raised concerns and criticism about the decision to proceed as planned with the water-using "2026 Miryang Super Festival."
In this regard, Kwan Entertainment said in an official statement on the 7th, "We extend our condolences and encouragement to the Miryang citizens and related parties suffering from the severe drought."
It added, "We are deeply concerned and regretful about the performance being carried out under the current circumstances," but explained that "we received a legal judgment that we must fulfill our contractual obligations under already concluded contractual relations, and therefore we have inevitably decided to have Skull and Haha perform at today's show."
The agency said, "We apologize to everyone who is working day and night to overcome the drought," and added, "To be of some help, we have decided to donate the full appearance fees received from this performance to help overcome the Miryang drought."
Finally, it added, "We will do our best to stand with the people of Miryang so they do not lose hope amid the current difficulties."
