Actress Bang Eun-hee opened up about her longing for her late mother and long-held guilt.
On June 6, MBN's "Exclusive World" will reveal the life story of actress Bang Eun-hee, who has been active for 38 years.
That day, after the stage, she looked back on memories with fellow actors and said, "I hope to be an actress who can stand on stage for a longer time."
But the first place she went after the performance was the columbarium where her parents are entombed. Bang Eun-hee confessed with a heavy heart, "It has been six years since my mother passed away, but it is still so hard to let her go."
She then brought up her childhood family life and showed tears. She recalled the hard memories, saying, "My mother gave birth to me at 16. She really lived a tumultuous life," and "My father came home once every two or three months, and when my mother returned from the market she would be assaulted while holding the market basket. She was beaten so much that she lost a lot of hair."
She added, "My mother endured until my younger brothers got married and then she divorced," and said, "I always feel sorry when I think about how hard it must have been for her until the moment she passed away. That is my self-blame," finishing with reddened eyes.
Bang Eun-hee expressed sorrow as she conveyed her longing and apology to her mother, feelings that do not fade with time.
