Tonight (7) at 8:35 p.m., tvN 'Space Rice Cake Shop' (directed by Na Youngseok, Kim Yesul) episode 2 will feature the long-awaited opening of Space Rice Cake Shop Earth branch No. 1, where a storm batters the shop from the first day of business and an unbelievable scene unfolds with not a single customer showing up.
The day before opening, the Jirak members experience firsthand the challenging difficulty of running a rice cake shop as they are taught the technique for selecting rice cakes to use in rice cake dishes. Main chef Lee Youngji says, "Cooking variety shows are a whole different level of difficulty," expressing her respect for small business owners. They also conduct a soft opening for final checks and present dishes to a mysterious family, raising curiosity about what kind of evaluation they will receive.
Meanwhile, on the unpredictable opening day, rain suddenly pours down and winds blow fiercely while the Jirak members are busy preparing, turning the shop into Asura: The City of Madness. Even after opening, no customers come, so Lee Youngji goes outside and continues a hollow cry on an empty street, evoking a sense of pathos.
In addition, Lee Eunji and Ahn Yujin spot a car passing by the shop after a long time and desperately try to promote the shop but fail. Lee Eunji then chokes up, saying, "Why hasn't word gotten out that we're open," drawing attention to whether they can overcome the crisis.
'Space Rice Cake Shop' premiered on the 31st last month and showed the Jirak members becoming part-time workers at Space Rice Cake Shop through Torongi's scheme, from rice cakes to dishes. It is a full-fledged forced employment restaurant labor adventure variety show.
