The group's (G)I-DLE member Miyeon expands her position as a global solo artist by releasing her first Japanese digital single since debut.
Cube Entertainment Corp. revealed Miyeon's first Japanese digital single "RUN AWAY" artwork teaser image at midnight on the group's official SNS channels on the 6th. The released teaser vividly captures a clear blue sky brimming with freshness, suggesting the bright and positive mood this new song will deliver. At the same time, the company formalized the music release on the 10th, heightening anticipation among domestic and international fans.
Miyeon, who serves as the group's main vocalist, has proven her solid vocal capabilities through numerous OST performances and collaborations with other artists. In 2022 she announced a successful solo debut by sweeping domestic major music charts and music show first places with the title track "Drive" from her first solo mini album "MY." Her second mini album released last year, "MY, Lover," and its title track "Say My Name" achieved immediate domestic chart-topping positions as well as notable global results, including No. 1 on China's QQ Music bestseller daily and weekly charts and entry on Kugou Music's all-song chart.
