Love On The Menu depicted the changed lives of characters who leapt over eight years in meticulous detail, raising the curtain on a new story.
On the 1st and 2nd, episodes 3 and 4 of KBS 2TV weekend drama Love On The Menu (directed by Hong Seok-gu, written by Lee Kyung-hee) revealed the present lives of characters who continued on in their own places after a heartbreaking parting.

Eight years completely changed Kim Mujin (played by Ha Seok-jin). As a successful owner chef running an Italian restaurant, he established himself as a figure combining skill and charisma. His cynical demeanor, which did not believe in love to the extent of declaring "couples not allowed," was markedly different from the pure young man who once trusted only love and gave up everything.
He achieved success, but the wounds remained. At the cold reaction that hardened at just hearing the name Han Gyurim (played by Ahn Heeyeon), emotions that had not healed even as time passed were plainly revealed.
Still by Kim Mujin's side were Park Jung-woo (played by Min Jin-ung) and Jang Seohyun (played by Lee Ju-yeon). Park Jung-woo, who co-runs the restaurant, became a reliable helper, and Jang Seohyun also kept by his side with a steadfast heart for a long time. The three's bickering yet caring chemistry added warm vitality to the drama.

Han Gyurim had grown into a strong mother. Working at Park Sunam's (played by Kang Ae-sim) side-dish shop and raising her eight-year-old son Han Gyeol (played by Yoon Habin) alone, she created small moments of happiness amid a busy life.
Her bright embrace of her son after school showed warm maternal love, but on one side of her heart the memories of Kim Mujin and the indelible wounds still remained.
Han Gyeol was his mother's most steadfast support. He brought smiles with his boldness in speaking freely to his aunt Han Gyuyeong (played by Park Yuna) and uncle Han Guo (played by Bae Yoon-gyu), and his tender feelings for his mother drew viewers' smiles. Interest is focused on the warm mother-child story that Gyurim and Han Gyeol will create together.

Han Gyuyeong settled in as a dermatology pay doctor, but her personality remained the same. She still showed an annoying and arrogant side to her older sister Han Gyurim, but in front of her lover Kang Seong-wook (played by Go Yoon) she revealed a lovable charm and dreamed of a happy future.
Meanwhile, Han Guo shocked with an unexpected recent situation. His becoming, so to speak, a "swallow" deepened the siblings' conflict. While exchanging biting remarks at each other, worry and affection coexisted, showing the realistic dynamics of siblings.
Added to the mix were twins who had suddenly grown into high school students, Han Gyuseo (played by Park Su-o) and Han Gyumin (played by Kim Min-seo), completing the Han family's distinctive cheerful family chemistry.
In this way, Love On The Menu marked the beginning of a new phase by convincingly portraying characters' emotions and relationships that deepened over the course of eight years.
