Actor Jung Bo-seog revealed that he had been a victim of stock fraud.
On the 5th, a video titled "The day I met senior Jewelry Jung and summoned the past" was posted on Hwang Jeong-eum's YouTube channel.
That day, Jung Bo-seog opened by saying, "There was a time during the dot-com bubble when my wife and I traded so much stock we held a contest to see who would lose more."
Jung Bo-seog said, "At the time I met a friend and we were talking about the money we had lost in stocks, and that friend introduced me to someone else. That person said, "I will help you recover all the money you have lost at once," and recommended stocks."
He added, "Believing those words, I bought into the stock, but from the day I entered it suddenly hit the lower limit. That person said, 'They are trying to shake out ordinary investors. Average down,' so I bought more stock."
Jung Bo-seog confessed, "But then I saw that the company's major shareholder was selling shares. I was told it was a process of transferring equity," and Hwang Jeong-eum asked, "Then what does that person gain by doing that?"
In response, Jung Bo-seog said, "That person was the major shareholder. They were trying to lure in retail investors and then clean them out and leave."
