Actor Park So-dam transforms into the cool-headed second child strategist planning revenge in "Gyeongju Trip."
Park So-dam meets audiences as Young-ju in the film "Gyeongju Trip," which opens on Aug. 26 (written and directed by Kim Mi-jo; presented by Lotte Entertainment, Michigan Venture Capital Co.; distributed by Lotte Entertainment; produced by Studio High Five; co-produced by Euphoria ENT).
Young-ju is the second of Ok-sil (Lee Jung-eun)'s four children, once the family's hopeful law school graduate elite, but she is now unemployed, having given up the bar exam and spending her days checking crypto exchanges.
However, her brilliant mind has not rusted, and she is the one who devises this family revenge plan. Although she says her mother's reckless plan makes no sense, she reveals a strategic side as she carefully constructs alibis.
Director Kim Mi-jo said, "'Young-ju' is a lonely character with a lone-wolf streak, and the only actor who could perfectly embody that was Park So-dam. Her thorough analysis overwhelmed the set and sent shivers through me," expressing admiration.
Park So-dam also conveyed her special affection for the work, saying, "Director, after countless conversations with the cast and crew, it felt as if we were truly family in a past life. Every moment acting felt like returning to my debut, and it was so enjoyable."
Meanwhile, Park So-dam is an actor loved by the public for her wide range of character portrayals across genres and platforms, including "EJAE, Soon to die," "The Ghost," "Record of Youth," "Parasite," and "The Priests." In "Gyeongju Trip," Park So-dam is expected to showcase a refreshing, soda-like charm armed with realistic logic and sharp facts.
