Actor Kim Woo-bin has been confirmed to appear in tvN's new drama "Gift."
The new tvN drama "Gift," scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2026 (directors Kim Gyu-tae, Ham Seung-hoon; writers Min Jeong, Haeju, Seong-eun), is a coming-of-age sports drama about a former professional baseball pitching coach who, after an unexpected accident gains a special ability, is appointed as the head coach of the lowest-ranked high school baseball team in the country and the story that unfolds. It is based on the webtoon of the same name by webtoonist Jung Il-yi-ri, serialized on Kakao Webtoon.
In the drama, Kim Woo-bin plays former professional baseball pitching coach Jeong Min-yong. Jeong Min-yong is a character who gains a special ability to instantly perceive people's baseball talent, and after leaving the professional stage he becomes the coach of the nationally last-place high school baseball team and leads the team's change with his own coaching methods.
Kim Woo-bin is expected to portray Jeong Min-yong's growth and transformation three-dimensionally with his trademark deep emotional acting and weighty presence. In particular, he is expected to convincingly depict Jeong Min-yong's changes as he constantly grapples with the balance between talent and effort and grows together with the players.
