Actor Hwang Bo-ra decided to proceed with in vitro fertilization for her second pregnancy, but her husband Kim Young-hoon drank alcohol and she was furious.
Hwang Bo-ra uploaded a video titled "From menopause diagnosis to miraculous egg retrieval.. Hwang Bo-ra's four months of joy and sorrow" on her YouTube channel "Hwang Bo-ra Boraiety" on the 4th.
Hwang Bo-ra said, "Finally a follicle appeared so I'm getting an IV. I really wasn't expecting anything, but suddenly there was a follicle so I wonder what this is. I'm so grateful and amazed. These days Wooin is being raised and actually I'm in an overloaded state with childcare routines. I can't believe it. I feel like crying," she said, delighted.
She continued, "I didn't expect anything at all but when I saw the follicle I was so moved. I feel like this is the real start. I'll take care of my body again and go for it," she said.
But the company workshop overlapped with the retrieval date. Hwang Bo-ra said, "Actually the company workshop had been scheduled for four days starting tomorrow to go to Vietnam for the past three to four months, but a follicle developed so I was going to send only my husband today, but he also had to undergo retrieval so the schedules overlapped. I'm sorry to my coworkers, but this is a precious follicle we've been waiting for more than anything. For the second child, the workshop will be next time and the egg will be retrieved next week. I keep smiling and can't hide how good I feel," she said, conveying the news to her husband.
Hwang Bo-ra said, "I only have one follicle so I can't miss it," showing her desperate feelings.
Finally, on the retrieval day she went to the hospital with her husband. But Hwang Bo-ra said, "The reason I was so angry yesterday was that for about three days my husband cut back a bit and drank maybe one or two glasses of wine, but until the day before the collection I kept telling him, 'Don't drink!' I urged him repeatedly. Men just need to be selected. The moment I took the call he said he had just one glass of wine. I was so angry I yelled, 'What do you even do!?' So I said I won't do it. I won't have a second. The house was in an uproar and I said if an embryo isn't created today it's all my husband's fault. It's been two to three years since a sperm sample was taken, and if his sperm condition is poor I'll really give him a hard time," she said.
