The group ILLIT proved its unstoppable growth in Japan and broke its own record.
According to Oricon Japan on Aug. 5, ILLIT (Yoonah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, Iroha)'s second Japanese single I Got Your Back sold 71,009 copies in its first week and ranked fourth on the latest weekly singles ranking (Aug. 10). This is ILLIT's highest first-week sales on that chart.
Responses to the song and music video are also heating up. The title track I Got Your Back (Feat. JISOO, MOMOKA of HANA) immediately swept to No. 1 on the AWA real-time rising chart, a major local music platform, and secured high positions on major music charts such as Line Music, Apple Music Japan and Spotify Japan.
In particular, the music video, which contains the group's quirky and lively "ILLIT core" sensibility, proudly entered YouTube's global weekly trending music videos chart. The collaboration synergy of ILLIT and HANA members Jeesoo and Momoka, who are considered trending in both Korea and Japan, was judged to have perfectly hit the tastes of global music fans.
Their appearances on local broadcasts and festival stages also stood out. ILLIT appeared consecutively on major music programs such as Fuji TV's Mezamashi TV and TBS's CDTV Live! Live! on Aug. 3, delivering steady live vocals and energetic performances. On Aug. 4, they raised local excitement with a joint stage with popular Japanese girl group CUTIE STREET at the Mezamashi WANGAN Festival.
ILLIT will further expand contact points with local fans on offline stages. They will hold a release celebration event at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza on Aug. 8, and on Aug. 9 they will perform at the large music festival LuckyFes'26.
