Actress Hwang Bo-ra revealed the process of returning to try for a second pregnancy after overcoming side effects from in vitro fertilization.

Earlier, Hwang Bo-ra, who had stopped IVF because of severe injection side effects, returned to the hospital. She was told by medical staff that she was in the menopausal transition, and she was greatly shocked.
Hwang Bo-ra said, "The injection side effects were so severe that I planned to rest for about a month, but I came to the hospital just in case," and added, "The doctor gave me hopeful words, so I gathered my courage again." She continued, "They said that if you are in the menopausal transition and do ovulation induction for a year without ovulating, it is considered menopause. I felt as if I had been given a terminal diagnosis," and said, "I plan not to give up and to try for the next year."
Afterward, unexpected good news also arrived. After being told by medical staff that follicles were visible, Hwang Bo-ra started IVF injections again. She said, "I had no expectations at all, so when they suddenly said there were follicles, I couldn't believe it," and added, "I was very tired from child-rearing, and I was so grateful that I cried," conveying her overwhelming emotions.
When the egg retrieval schedule was set, she gave up a company workshop that had been planned for a long time. Hwang Bo-ra said, "It was a schedule set three to four months ago, but because this is a precious follicle we've waited a long time for, we postponed the workshop," and added, "I'm excited and nervous wondering if we can make a miracle."
Hwang Bo-ra also candidly revealed why she desperately wants a second child. She said, "I often thought, since I had a hard time conceiving the first, why am I being greedy for a second?" and added, "I am in my mid-40s and my husband will soon be 50. I thought, how much longer will we live anyway?" She continued, "I grew up lonely as a child. To a child, parents are the universe, and if that universe collapses, the child suffers," and said, "If Woo-in has siblings, I thought they might be someone to rely on even a little as they live their life, so I really wanted to try for a second," expressing her sincere feelings.
