'Love On The Menu' A huge trial has come upon the love between Ha Seok-jin and Ahn Heeyeon, which had remained steadfast despite their parents' opposition.
On Feb. 1 and 2, the KBS2 weekend drama 'Love On The Menu' (written by Lee Kyung-hee, directed by Hong Seok-gu, produced by Monster Union and Contents G) continued the story of Kim Moo-jin (Ha Seok-jin) and Han Gyu-rim (Ahn Heeyeon). The couple's turbulent relationship, which will strengthen amid trials, is drawing attention as a key point to watch going forward.
Trials kept coming for Kim Moo-jin and Han Gyu-rim after they became a couple. Han Seok-joong (Ryu Seung-soo), who recognized the expensive watch the daughter's boyfriend wore, was secretly pleased thinking he might be a second-generation chaebol, but when Moo-jin lied that it was a fake he immediately changed his attitude and opposed their relationship. Feeling guilty, Moo-jin eventually visited his father's grave and confessed that he was really a second-generation chaebol.
But the crisis continued. Invited by Moo-jin's mother Hong Ok-seon (Jin Kyung) to the chairman's office, Gyu-rim was handed an envelope of money by secretary Cha, who demanded she end the relationship before she could even meet Hong. Despite the humiliation, Gyu-rim retorted, "You're asking me to put a price on my feelings. Give me 10 billion won."
As if mocking their vow not to break up, a cruel twist of fate began. When Hong Ok-seon learned that the two had visited the grave together, she harshly pressured her son to give up everything he had enjoyed until now or break up with Han Gyu-rim. Without a moment's hesitation, Kim Moo-jin chose Han Gyu-rim, left home empty-handed and began a hard life doing day labor. But he suffered a tragedy when he failed to avoid materials falling from the upper floor, lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital after a major accident.
Hearing about Kim Moo-jin's accident, Han Gyu-rim rushed to the hospital and belatedly realized he had given up everything for her, and in the end made a heartbreaking decision to accept 100 million won.
Kim Moo-jin and Han Gyu-rim's reunion unexpectedly occurred at a police station. After an intense keyboard battle in a game, the two met in an interrogation room at the police station for the first time in eight years, as if proving their fateful connection. Seeing Han Gyu-rim's son Han-gyeol (Yoon Ha-bin) run toward her shouting "Mom!" and the familiar Cho Heung-sik (Bae Jung-nam), Kim Moo-jin froze.
KBS2 'Love On The Menu' recorded a premiere rating of 11.7% (Nielsen Korea national) and a peak rating of 13.3% (episode 4).
