Former DIA member and actress Kwon Chae-won opened up about her concerns as an actress, and Seo Jang-hoon offered practical advice.
On the 3rd, KBS Joy variety program 'Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller' featured former DIA member Kwon Chae-won as a guest.
Kwon Chae-won said, "I was active as a member of DIA, but I have completely switched to acting and it has been about a year since I started acting."
She continued, "I always felt like I had an ambiguous position. This August I will also challenge myself in musical theater, but as an actress I don't want to remain in an ambiguous position anymore," she said, expressing her concerns.
Kwon Chae-won said that after ending activities with DIA she appeared on a global idol audition program but was eliminated in the second round, and later prepared to debut as a virtual idol but suffered the disappointment of the debut being canceled due to agency issues.
She explained that she currently takes one to two acting lessons a week and practices alone on weekdays, and upon hearing this Seo Jang-hoon offered frank but heartfelt advice.
Seo Jang-hoon said, "Can you expect to improve by practicing alone? If you don't know acting, what's the use of practicing alone for a hundred days?" He added, "There are so many aspiring actors who practice as if their lives depend on it in Korea; if your practice volume is insufficient, it's like your hands tremble every time you take a shot," and offered the practical advice, "You should increase your lesson time far more than practicing alone."
He encouraged her, saying, "If you keep learning and practicing consistently, your acting will gradually shine. That way you won't be in an ambiguous position anymore," giving Kwon Chae-won strength.
