Actor Park Sung-woong expressed affection for his son, who looks exactly like him.
On the 4th broadcast of KBS1's Morning Yard segment "Famous neighbor together," the leads of the film OK! MADAM 2, actors Uhm Jung-hwa, Park Sung-woong and Bae Jung-nam, appeared as guests.
That day Park Sung-woong talked under the theme "my friend, my 17-year-old son." Uhm Ji-in said, "You have a 17-year-old son? At 17 they're already grown. Show us a photo of your son and we'll talk. If he takes after his parents he'd be very tall and handsome," she said, surprised.
Afterward, childhood photos of Park Sung-woong and his son were revealed, and Park Sung-woong explained, "That was when he was 6 or 7 years old." Then a photo of his son at 15 years old was broadcast, drawing attention. Park Sung-woong said, "That was two years ago," and announcer Uhm Ji-in marveled, "You can see both the mother's and the father's faces."
Park Sung-woong said, "Recently my son told me something. He said he saw double eyelids while looking in the mirror. Because he doesn't have double eyelids. I'm monolid too. Honestly, when I look at my son sometimes I see double eyelids," and added, "That expression is an expressionless face, not any expression," conveying the charisma that makes him look exactly like him.
Announcer Park Cheol-gyu said, "It must overlap because when Park Sung-woong doesn't show any expression he looks scary," and Park Sung-woong shared an episode, "During the first six months of our marriage the baby's mother asked me if I was angry. I would be calmly watching TV or just being here. I'm not angry at all," which drew laughter.
Then Park Cheol-gyu admired, "The son looks exactly like his father," and Uhm Ji-in asked, "Isn't it wonderful when a child, son or daughter, looks just like you? It must be heartwarming," to which Park Sung-woong said, "Yes. I feel sorry and grateful. He's a high school freshman now but he still gives me a kiss on the mouth when I leave for work. We kiss each other and say 'ah,' but we kiss. About once a week," he revealed, shocking listeners.
Park Cheol-gyu worried, "From the son's perspective, is he okay with you revealing that on air?" and Park Sung-woong laughed, saying, "He doesn't know." He added, "But I always say that: 'Who would a 17-year-old son kiss his father?' I know that, so I always tell him I'm grateful."
Uhm Ji-in asked, "What name is your son saved under in your phone?" and Park Sung-woong answered, "My friend Park Sang-woo." He said, "I always try to be like a friend and meet him at eye level. Even if I don't lower myself he meets my level. It seems he passed puberty without much trouble. I think my son probably has me saved as 'Park Sung-woong' on his phone," he said, showing his affection.
Park Cheol-gyu asked, "To be like that, a father must be affectionate to his wife and son. There's a rumor you wash dishes three meals a day for your wife," and Park Sung-woong admitted, "Honestly, three meals a day is an exaggeration because we don't eat three full meals. I do it fairly often. Since high school my mother worked full time, and when she came home there was work to do, so I started offering to help. I feel catharsis when I wash the dishes," he said.
He continued, "I don't wear gloves because our family isn't large. If I don't handle the foaming by hand, my mother, who, when many relatives visit for holidays in our small house, would end up doing the dishes, doesn't have to redo them when I do them," and said, "I sometimes do the dishes with my son. I ask him to help because I could do it all, but I want to share that. And we play a lot of badminton. We have dad-joke battles," he said, conveying a friendly chemistry.
