Actor Mary Rivera, who appeared as Ned Leeds's grandmother in the movie 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' and was a memorable scene-stealer, has died. She was 82.
According to U.S. entertainment outlet Page Six and other foreign media on the 3rd (local time), Mary Rivera died in April in Honolulu, Hawaii, after suffering a stroke.
The bereaved family told the outlet that the deceased fell into a coma and, after doctors told them that even if she regained consciousness her prognosis would not be good, they decided to discontinue life-sustaining treatment.
Mary Rivera appeared as Ned (played by Jacob Batalon)'s Filipino grandmother in the 2021 Marvel hero film 'Spider-Man: No Way Home,' leaving a strong impression on global movie fans. At the time she shared scenes not only with Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon but also with surprise guest Andrew Garfield, completing a delightful scene with lines in Tagalog.
In particular, the scene in which she asks someone to remove the web hanging from the ceiling is regarded by fans as a great moment. The bereaved family said the deceased was very proud to have appeared in a Marvel film, which touched many people.
