Comedian Kim Ji-sun's son, rapper Shiba, said he has been suffering from social phobia and panic disorder.
Shiba posted a long message on his social media on the 4th to share an update on his life.
First, Shiba opened by saying, "To be honest, for a while I had the somewhat arrogant thought that I could make a living from music alone. I poured all the money I had saved into music, but realistically my money kept decreasing and my worries about my future life grew."
He continued, "Above all, the fact that I had to look for new work while suffering severely from social phobia and panic disorder terrified me. So I kept avoiding it and, whenever I opened my eyes, I went to the studio, exercised, and repeated work again. But at some point I felt that such a routine was actually slowly eating away at me," he said.
He added, "Then by chance a good opportunity came and I started a part-time job. Now I work four days a week, seven hours a day, and during my remaining time I concentrate on music. There is no break time and meals are not provided, but just being able to go out into society and work again, and the fact that I am gradually overcoming social phobia and panic disorder, makes me feel grateful day by day," he shared about his situation.
Shiba said, "This year our team released only one compilation album, but going forward I want to show you better music and a better side of myself," and he announced his plans, "It has already been four years since I started music. I sincerely thank everyone who has listened to my music and quietly supported me so far."
He said, "I always hope that all of you are happy, and I hope my music can have even a small positive impact on your lives," adding, "This is not a lie — if it weren't for you, I can confidently say I could never have reached this position. The current me was not created by my own strength alone. It was because you who have always listened to and supported my music that I am here now," expressing gratitude to his music fans.
Shiba is known as Kim Ji-sun's second son.
