The musical "Dream High season 2" has issued a statement regarding unpaid appearance fees.
The musical "Dream High season 2" production company Art One Company said on the 3rd, "We sincerely bow our heads and apologize for causing great concern over the issue of unpaid appearance fees."
Art One Company said, "We have completed mutual confirmation and consultation between the parties regarding the settlement of appearance fees for actor Youngjae for 'Dream High season 2', and we have completed the related settlement," adding, "We conducted a full recheck for unpaid fees for not only actor Youngjae but all actors, dancers and staff who participated in 'Dream High season 2', and for confirmed settlement targets we have either completed payment after consultation or are proceeding with the process."
It added, "If there are settlement items that were omitted during our confirmation process or that require additional individual verification, we will complete the settlement responsibly after a thorough review. We take this matter seriously and will do our best to prevent similar incidents from recurring through more rigorous management and responsible operation going forward."
"Dream High" is a work based on the drama of the same name; after its premiere in 2023, season 2 ran from Apr. 5 to June 1 at Seoul Woori Financial Art Hall. It then continued performances in Daegu, Busan, Manila and Taipei.
The appearance fees that the cast did not receive were reported to be in the 100 million won range, and Art One Company said the settlements would be completed within June, but GOT7 Youngjae vented his displeasure, saying, "Even though I'm someone who should receive money, whenever I contacted them they would say when will we give it, keep asking me to wait longer. Now if it becomes August it will have been almost a year since it wasn't sorted out. This way is really difficult."
