Chef Kim Do-yoon, who appeared on the Netflix variety show "Culinary Class Wars," revealed that he has been dating actor Kim Seo-yeon for four years. The two spoke directly about everything from their first meeting to how they began dating.
A recent video featuring Kim Seo-yeon was posted on the YouTube channel "Studio Slam." Kim said, "It's been about four years since I met my boyfriend," adding, "On social media (SNS), it felt like he was hiding my existence, which upset me."
To celebrate her boyfriend's birthday, Kim Seo-yeon said she posted a congratulatory message on SNS and tagged the account, but he did not share her post. When she asked the reason, she added, the only reply she got was, "Why does that matter?"
Chef Kim Do-yoon then appeared in the video and revealed that he is Kim Seo-yeon's boyfriend. On why they had not gone public with their relationship, Kim said, "I was worried that if an issue suddenly came up, the other person could be harmed too," adding, "I thought it would be better for only one person to get malicious comments than for both of us to get them."
The two are said to have first met at a theater after-party. After that, Kim Do-yoon contacted her via SNS direct message (DM), asking, "Want to eat samgyeopsal?" and they developed into a couple.
Kim Do-yoon gained recognition by appearing in seasons 1 and 2 of Netflix's "Culinary Class Wars." He said his appearance on the program also came at Kim Seo-yeon's suggestion, adding with a laugh, "She said if I didn't go on, we would break up."
Kim Seo-yeon debuted with the film "Memento Mori" and has appeared in various works, including the dramas "Taejong Yi Bang-won" and "Hyena."
