On July 30, a video titled "Hwang Chi-yeul who doesn't use a single dialect! Perfect Seoul speech!" was posted on the YouTube channel Hwang Je-seong.
That day Hwang Chi-yeul looked at dried radish strips and called them ogurakji. In response, Hwang Je-seong asked, "This is what your roots remember now. How many years have you lived in Seoul?", and Hwang Je-seong teased, "It's been 21 years — isn't your standard language not good?"
Hwang Chi-yeul rebutted, "What are you talking about. I keep using standard language. I have an intonation, but the structure is close to standard language." Hwang Je-seong did not admit it, saying, "Among the people I know, you have the strongest dialect."
Hwang Chi-yeul mentioned, "No. Among your juniors there's comedian Lee Seon-min. Lee Seon-min has no intention of using Seoul speech at all." Hwang Je-seong drew a line, saying, "I'm also from the provinces, so it's hard for me to criticize your dialect, but (that's not it)."
He added, "I completely fixed it. I had to do broadcasts, so I fixed it through tears. Your dialect is too strong," prompting Hwang Chi-yeul to lament and make people laugh, "So what am I supposed to do? When I go home I speak Seoul dialect and here I speak dialect."
Meanwhile, on June 26 at 6 p.m., Hwang Chi-yeul attracted attention by releasing all tracks of his first summer album I LOVE SUMMER and the music video for the title track "Our, summer (Our Summer)" across various music platforms.
