Hollywood actors Matt Damon and Charlize Theron shared their impressions of visiting Korea.
On the morning of the 3rd at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul, a press conference was held for the film 'Odyssey' visit to Korea. Director Christopher Nolan, producer Emma Thomas, and actors Matt Damon and Charlize Theron attended the conference and spoke.
The film 'Odyssey,' directed by Christopher Nolan and imported/distributed by Universal Pictures, which opens domestically on the 5th, is an epic about the hero "Odysseus," who led the Greeks to victory in the Trojan War, fighting the wrath of the gods to return home.
Matt Damon reunited with Korean audiences for the first time in about 10 years since the 2016 film Jason Bourne. Especially, after arriving on the 1st his first destination was the KBO League game between the Kiwoom Heroes and the SSG Landers held at Gocheok Sky Dome, and Matt Damon said, I had a great time watching baseball. My kids came too and had to adjust to the time difference so they couldn't watch until the end. But I was able to see the game and yesterday I also did a tour. I had time to see Seoul. I was happy to be able to see Seoul all day, he said.
When asked what led him to choose the baseball stadium as his first destination, he said, By coincidence I have a friend who is a baseball agent. A player represented by that agent is on the Kiwoom Heroes. When I arrived at the airport they said I could go see the game, and I'd heard a lot of good things about Korean baseball so I wanted to see it and it was fun. Both teams cheer for their sides and the cheering was so remarkable; they don't do that in the United States. I thought the energy was amazing and the fans were incredibly passionate. It's the same sport but the cheering style is different so it was very interesting and fun. I'm so glad I went, he said.
Charlize Theron said, A few months ago I visited Korea. I came then with my daughter to travel. Because we love Korean culture so much and we like hanging out with friends here, I'm so happy to be able to come back and especially happy to come for 'Odyssey', she said, drawing attention.
Saying she has friends in Korea, she said, When I came last time I made friends and met them and ate a lot of Korean food. I also paid attention to skin care. Thanks to Korean technology, she joked.
She said there seems to be a slight difference between visiting for travel and visiting on official business, saying, When we came with our 10-year-old daughter we walked around a lot and looked around, but it seems harder when we come officially. More people know we are here. My friend said the energy changes as soon as you arrive in Korea. Seoul is very beautiful and culturally rich. You can feel that as soon as you get off the plane. I can say it's similar but different, and I'm very happy to be in Korea.
