Pop star Ariana Grande will suspend activities.
On the 2nd (local time), U.S. outlet People reported that Ariana Grande will step away from the public and take an extended break after finishing the 'Eternal Sunshine Tour,' which ends on Sept. 1.
Ariana Grande's spokesperson cited "the public's relentless scrutiny and excessive attention" as one of the main reasons for this break. Recently on social media and online communities harsh judgments have been poured out about Ariana Grande's appearance. In particular, after the music video for the new song "Petal" was released on the 31st, debates over Ariana Grande's weight loss continued.
The spokesperson said, "Ariana will refrain from public-facing activities for a while after completing the Eternal Sunshine Tour," and added, "Ariana looks forward to successfully finishing the tour healthy and happy, and afterward she plans to pause public activities and appearances that have sparked endless public scrutiny and take the rest she rightfully deserves."
They added, "This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. Ariana loves her fans and sincerely enjoyed every moment of the tour."
The report also said that Ariana Grande has withdrawn from the musical "Sunday in the Park with George" along with suspending activities. Initially Ariana Grande was scheduled to perform opposite Jonathan Bailey in the production.
