On the evening of the 1st at 8 p.m., episode 3 of the KBS 2TV weekend drama Love On The Menu (directed by Hong Seok-gu / written by Lee Kyung-hee / produced by Monster Union, Contents G) depicted the love between Kim Mu-jin (played by Ha Seok-jin) and Han Gyu-rim (played by Ahn Heeyeon), which grew stronger amid an unexpected crisis, and the fierce backlash from Hong Ok-seon (played by Jin Kyung), who opposed their relationship.
In that episode, Kim Mu-jin and Han Gyu-rim continued a sweet romance, spending affectionate time with their twin siblings. But they faced a sudden situation when they ran into Gyu-rim's father, Han Seok-joong (played by Ryu Seung-soo). When Han Seok-joong, having seen Kim Mu-jin's expensive watch, suspected him of being a second-generation chaebol, Kim Mu-jin improvised and lied that the watch he wore was a fake to protect the embarrassed Gyu-rim.
However, feeling sorry because Gyu-rim believed he was someone who did not lie, Kim Mu-jin decided to confess honestly. He took her to his mother's gravesite and admitted, "I didn't have the courage because I was afraid you'd be disappointed and leave me," revealing his true identity as the son of a chaebol family. Deeply shaken, Gyu-rim left, showing complicated emotions, and Kim Mu-jin, mixing remorse and anxiety, could only watch helplessly as she walked away.
Meanwhile, the bickering chemistry of the sub couple added fun. Han Gyu-young (played by Park Yoo-na), thinking someone was following her, fled from Jo Heung-sik (played by Bae Jung-nam), tripped and damaged the heel of her shoe. Jo Heung-sik fixed it for her, but she complained about the scuff, and a bewildered Jo Heung-sik offered slippers and an envelope of money, which Han Gyu-young refused. Ultimately, with Jo Heung-sik's curse-like "발병이나 나뿌라," she slipped again, producing a comedic moment.
Meanwhile, dark clouds truly gathered over the couple's future. Still shocked by Kim Mu-jin's identity, Han Gyu-rim was summoned by his mother, Hong Ok-seon. But Hong Ok-seon had already arranged a meeting and enjoyed an untroubled meal with Jang Hoon-tae (played by Kwon Hae-hyo) and Go Yoon-hee (played by Yoon Yoo-sun), and openly showed hostility by calling the woman involved a gold digger. Before she could even meet Hong Ok-seon, Gyu-rim received a break-up notice and an envelope from the car's secretary. Despite the humiliation, she defiantly said, "You want me to put a price on my feelings for Mu-jin? Give me 100 billion won!" showing an undaunted spirit.
After a cold day, the two who met again grew even closer. Han Gyu-rim forgave him, saying, "Even if we break up someday, it's not now," and Kim Mu-jin pulled her into a passionate embrace, saying, "Why would we break up?" confirming their hardened love.
Ultimately, the conflict exploded. Hong Ok-seon pushed her son Kim Mu-jin to give up everything he had enjoyed so far or break up with the woman. Without hesitation, Kim Mu-jin declared he would give up everything, left home, and began a dramatic new life, making a living doing day labor.
Tension peaked at the end of the broadcast. A dish slipped from Han Gyu-rim's hands while she was doing the dishes, creating an ominous atmosphere, and at the same time Han Seok-joong, his face covered with wounds, was shoved roughly by someone and fell into a life-or-death crisis. At the day labor site, Kim Mu-jin, carrying a cement bag, looked up at a frantic shout of "Watch out!" from upstairs, creating a shocking ending that hinted at an unexpected accident and heightened curiosity about the next episode.<
