'Love On The Menu' Ha Seok-jin and Ahn Heeyeon are swept up in a relentless whirlpool of fate. A calamitous accident and an eight-year span–crossing reunion at a police station are foreshadowed before the two who dreamed of happiness.
Today (2nd) at 8 p.m., episode 4 of the KBS 2TV weekend drama Love On The Menu (directed by Hong Seok-gu / written by Lee Kyung-hee) will depict the heartbreaking saga of Kim Mujin (played by Ha Seok-jin) and Han Gyurim (played by Ahn Heeyeon), who are driven to the brink by an unexpected tragedy.
Previously, Kim Mujin did not waver in his love for Han Gyurim even in the face of fierce opposition and a final ultimatum from his mother Hong Ok-seon (played by Jin Kyung). Ultimately, he set aside all his privileges and left home empty-handed, proving his steadfast love by throwing himself into grueling day labor work. But while carrying heavy cement up the stairs, a desperate cry and a major crisis heightened the sense of foreboding.
The stills released ahead of the broadcast shock viewers. The sight of Kim Mujin lying in a hospital bed, motionless and unconscious, and Han Gyurim collapsing in tears as she rushes to the scene upon hearing of his accident, leaves viewers feeling heavy-hearted.
In particular, this accident leads to a cruel mismatch between Ko Yoon-hee (played by Yoon Yoo-sun), her biological daughter Han Gyurim, and her stepdaughter Jang Seo-hyun (played by Lee Joo-yeon). While Ko Yoon-hee comforts her weeping stepdaughter Jang Seo-hyun, she fails to recognize her biological daughter Han Gyurim, who passes right beside her. The brief moment in which the mother-daughter bond goes awry intensifies curiosity about what storm this tragic tie will bring in the future.
Another still that flips the mood commands attention. After as long as eight years, Kim Mujin and Han Gyurim unexpectedly reunite while being questioned side by side at a police station. Their frozen, complicated gazes at each other raise curiosity about what story has been hidden from them for such a long time.
The production team said, "The calamitous accident that shattered the happiness of these two people and the story behind their reunion at the police station after eight years will drive the drama's immersion to its peak," and added, "Please watch until the end to see the heart-rending aftermath created by the crossed glances of Han Gyurim and Ko Yoon-hee, who seem to be within reach yet out of touch."
