Hollywood actor Jared Leto has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor, and additional allegations have emerged that he sexually harassed a bartender.
On the 1st, U.S. outlet Page Six reported that Jared Leto followed a young bartender who had rejected his overt physical advances to the parking lot, then harassed her with relentless text messages and partially nude selfies.
According to the report, Grace Lisa Akers, who was 25 in 2011, was working as a bartender at a bar in Michigan, and the band Thirty Seconds to Mars, which Jared Leto belonged to, performed there. Afterwards, Jared Leto reportedly sent staff to say he wanted to meet the bartender and invited her to his dressing room party.
The two exchanged numbers, and Leto invited her to his dressing room filled with band members and bar staff. Grace Lisa Akers told the outlet, "He offered me a drink but I refused. That was the first red flag," and accused him of "grabbing me and touching my hair; his hands wrapped around my waist and hips and tried to take my hand."
She continued, "I made it clear I wasn't interested, said goodbye and packed my things. But he followed me out and cornered me as I was trying to get into my car. I said, 'I'm uncomfortable so I'm going home,' got in my car and drove home," she explained.
But afterwards Jared Leto began to bombard her with text messages, and she claimed that two months later he sent a mirror selfie with only a towel around his waist and even sent the hotel name and room number.
Grace Lisa Akers said, "He did not physically injure me, but I think the refusal of 'no' shows a pattern of aggressive behavior and a sense of entitlement that emerges when things don't go his way."
Meanwhile, Jared Leto was engulfed in controversy after allegations of rape and sexual assault by multiple women, including minors, were raised in the BBC documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret.
Jared Leto responded, "I have never raped anyone in my life," and said the documentary's claims were "absolutely and categorically false."
