According to Nielsen Korea, the television ratings research company, 'A Bona fide Killer,' which premiered the previous day, recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 7.4% on the morning of the 1st. Starting its first week without competing programs, 'A Bona fide Killer' initially took first place in its time slot and filled the void left by 'Manager Kim.'
The program airing at the same time, 'Manager Kim the universe,' recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 4.5% and received steady interest despite being a special broadcast.
'A Bona fide Killer' is based on a popular webtoon and depicts the struggles of a working mom with the most ruthless job in the world as she fights to preserve work-life balance. Actors Kong Hyojin, Jung Jun-won, Lee Sang Yi and Seong Dong Il appear in the cast.
The first episode depicted the story of Yu Bo-na (played by Kong Hyojin), who returned to work after three years of parental leave. Immediately after returning, Yu Bo-na heightened the tension by holding her first client meeting on the roof of a church. The unique setting provided a different kind of fun.
'A Bona fide Killer' drew attention as Kong Hyojin's return to MBC after 15 years. Kong Hyojin has previously succeeded in hits on MBC with 'Do as you please,' 'Pasta,' and 'The Greatest Love.' It was also MBC that gave rise to the nickname "Gongbly."
