Yuri of the group Girls' Generation (birth name Kwon Yuri) will leave the agency she has been with for 19 years and stand at a new starting line.
SM Entertainment said on the 31st, "After in-depth discussions with Kwon Yuri, we mutually agreed to conclude our 19-year journey as of Aug. 31."
However, even after her exclusive contract with the previous agency expires, her path as part of the team is not expected to stop. SM Entertainment said, "Future activities as Girls' Generation will continue unchanged."
On Aug. 2007, after making her debut in the music industry as a member of Girls' Generation, Yuri gained popularity as part of a leading Korean idol group with songs such as "Into the New World" and "Genie." Since then, Kwon has worked across various fields, including drama and variety shows. She also appeared in the play "THE WASP," which closed in Apr.
