On the same day, Spider-Man: Brand New Day (director Dustin Cretton, provided and distributed by Sony Pictures) drew 441,554 viewers in one day to take first place at the box office. Its cumulative audience is 1,131,222. While it has received enthusiastic support from Marvel fans, with 'Spider-Man' seemingly catching Hope in its web, controversies surrounding lead actor Hwang Jung-min have surfaced, making it unlikely to surpass 10 million viewers.
With the release of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day,' Hope's daily audience has been gradually declining. Before 'Spider-Man' opened on the 28th, Hope recorded 100,147 daily viewers, but it fell to 87,927 on the 29th and to 67,626 on the 30th.
Moreover, allegations about lead actor Hwang Jung-min's private life are painful.
