DJ DOC member Lee Ha-neul directly refuted malicious comments claiming 'I survived thanks to Kim Chang Youl.'
Lee Ha-neul recently posted a short video on his channel titled "Did Chang Youl's help keep me alive?"
In the video, Lee Ha-neul said, "This is also wrong, so I'll point it out. To attack me, they summoned Kim Chang Youl and said, 'A man in his 50s who would have been whining without Chang Youl.'" He was referring to the parts of the malicious comments that mentioned members in order to attack him.
Lee Ha-neul said firmly, "Sorry, but I think Chang Youl has been singing and making a living so far with the lyrics I made and the songs I made for him. That is somewhat true," and added, "Hyung wrote almost all the lyrics for DJ DOC songs and hyung made the songs too. Know what you're talking about."
He added, "I don't mean to diss Chang Youl, but when I work in the studio for a year, when I'm preparing an album and recording for a year, Chang Youl comes about 10 days a year. There's nothing you can do about that. You can't refute it. That's the fact."
Lee Ha-neul has continued a cycle of conflict and reconciliation with Kim Chang Youl since his younger brother Lee Hyun-bae suddenly died of a heart condition in April 2021. It was claimed that after Chang Youl suddenly withdrew from a guesthouse business preparation in Jeju Island, Lee Ha-neul's younger brother suffered hardships, including working part-time due to financial difficulties and then being involved in an accident.
Afterward, Lee Ha-neul said in 2023 that he was not in contact with Kim Chang Youl, but in April 2024 he released a video showing a warm embrace and reconciliation with Kim Chang Youl. However, in a video released on the 13th, he also mentioned that he had again "cut ties" with Kim Chang Youl.
