Actor Hong Ye Ji expressed discomfort after posting a screenshot of malicious DMs directed at her.
On the 30th, Hong Ye Ji shared a capture of a direct message she received from an internet user on her personal social media.
The user sent the message, "I'm not saying I dislike you. I just don't know you well and I'm not particularly interested. It's annoying that you seem to show a nuance of deliberately trying to avoid mentioning OOO lol. That feels like it's mass-producing a very high-level self-made dating rumor."
They continued, "I really hate that vague nuance that keeps bringing up suspicion and doubt. Why would you do that? lol" and added, "If you're trying in any way to try to be connected, please don't make even a small attempt. I'm asking you."
The user also wrote, "At this most brilliantly awaited moment after a long wait, I hope your work finishes well and without incident, and that your career does not remain under the names 'stain' or 'noise,'" and added, "Just live in the place you originally belonged and only as much as you are given.. always that much for you.. then I hope you continue to do well."
Hong Ye Ji posted the captured DM without adding any additional comment or explanation. However, reactions have followed suggesting she may have shared it herself because the content itself was rude and caused her discomfort.
Also, Hong Ye Ji obscured the name of the actor mentioned by the internet user, but some netizens are speculating that the person might be Park Jihoon, who co-starred with her in the 2024 KBS2 "Love Song For Illusion."
Meanwhile, in May, Hong Ye Ji's agency said, "Malicious slander, indiscriminate personal defamation and the spread of false information causing damage to Hong Ye Ji's reputation and other illegal acts have continued to occur," and added, "We plan to respond strongly to all acts without any leniency."
