The group BTS added a music video with 1.4 billion views.
BIGHIT MUSIC said on the 30th, "BTS's "Idol (IDOL)" music video surpassed 1.4 billion views at around 9:20 p.m. on the 29th. It is the fifth such milestone for the team."
"Idol" is the title track of the repackaged album "LOVE YOURSELF 結 'Answer'" that BTS released in August 2018, and it reached 1.4 billion views about eight years after its release.
BTS previously had music videos with 1.4 billion views for "Dynamite," "Boy With Luv," "DNA," and the "MIC Drop" remix. With the addition of "Idol," the team now has five such videos.
"Idol" is characterized by a blend of South African beats, traditional Korean percussion rhythms and vocal interjections; upon release it reached No. 11 on the U.S. Billboard main song chart "Hot 100" and No. 21 on the U.K. "Official Singles Chart Top 100," gaining popularity.
