"You Quiz on the Block" singer Kim Jong Kook candidly explained the wedding he secretly held a year ago.
On the 29th episode of tvN "You Quiz on the Block" (hereafter "You Quiz"), singer Kim Jong Kook appeared. In his 31st year since debut, known as a fitness-focused singer and all-around entertainer, he said he released a new album and is holding a concert at the same time.
Since last year Kim Jong Kook has been known by the title of newlywed, drawing much attention. Now that almost 10 months have passed since his wedding, Kim Jong Kook said, "Since it's almost been a year I should prepare a gift," quietly showing he takes care of his wife.
Kim Jong Kook said, "Marriage is very good. Basically it brings a sense of stability. Seeing only (my wife), wherever I go, it's always just one person — that feels stable," and added, "There isn't a special pet name. I've often heard that when you marry your wife loses her name, so I plan to call her name a lot," sharing his feelings. Just calmly expressing his thoughts without fuss was enough.
Kim Jong Kook also said, "If a child comes or life changes, it could be different, so I want to try something new today," and added, "If a child comes and the reality of childcare hits, it could again be different," naturally sharing his thoughts about having a second child.
Although he said to other media that he wants a daughter, Kim Jong Kook said, "Whether daughter or son, it's fine. If it's a daughter I might be more cautious, and if it's a son I might be more hands-on," saying he's happy to have a child at his age. Yu Jae-seok expressed concern, saying, "If it's Kim Jong Kook's son, it might not be easy."
In response, Kim Jong Kook said, "Even I think my son wouldn't have it easy. I'm sorry in advance," and said, "My son would really be doomed. I had a strict home. Also my older brother studied hard. Even when leaving the house he took his school uniform. No matter what, you have to go to school. You must have perfect attendance," saying he plans to teach his son the strict educational values he grew up with. Kim Jong Kook joked in advance, "Dad is doing all this so you will succeed."
Meanwhile, Kim Jong Kook surprised everyone by getting married in strict secrecy a year ago. He even invited his manager and the Running Man members only a week before the wedding, shocking everyone. Kim Jong Kook said, "One person lives as themselves and then one day living as 'someone's wife' might be too burdensome, so we decided to have a quiet ceremony.
