Actor Yeon Jung-hoon revealed why his wife Han Ga-in opposes their children debuting as actors.
Appearing as a 'food friend' on Moo No Plan, Yeon Jung-hoon candidly opens up about his true feelings regarding the 'path of an actor' surrounding his father Yeon Gyu-jin and his wife Han Ga-in.
The fifth episode of MBN·Channel S Moo No Plan 4, airing on Fri., 31 at 9:10 p.m., reveals the scene where Jun Hyun-moo, KwakTube (Kwak Joon-bin) and Yeon Jung-hoon find a '42-year tradition' snack bar recognized even by Incheon natives and immerse themselves in its nostalgic flavors and stories.
That day Jun Hyun-moo led the two, saying, "The restaurant we're going to makes its pan-fried dumplings fresh every day." When the nostalgic snack bar appeared at the end of a narrow alley, KwakTube exclaimed, "The restaurant romance is crazy!" with sparkling eyes. A moment later, Jun Hyun-moo tasted a freshly cooked pan-fried dumpling and said, "This is insanely flavorful. I keep eating it," unable to put down his chopsticks, and KwakTube and Yeon Jung-hoon also inhaled them, saying, "It's addictive." After tasting nostalgic jjolmyeon and thin pork cutlet, the three naturally brought up schoolday memories. During this, Yeon Jung-hoon briefly showed a past photo of himself and explained, "It's a photo taken when I was living in the U.S. and came to Korea briefly during vacation." Seeing this, Jun Hyun-moo admired, "A typical face of someone who studied in the U.S.!" and curiosity centered on Yeon Jung-hoon's "shabangshabang" look from that time.
In a warm atmosphere, Jun Hyun-moo asked, "Why don't you age?" and asked Yeon Jung-hoon the secret to his youthful looks. He then showed three of his own past photos and quizzed, "Arrange them in chronological order." Yeon Jung-hoon shook his head, saying, "Harder than entrance exams," then pointed to Jun Hyun-moo's elementary school photo and fired a blunt line, "This is an elementary school student? While moving to the next restaurant, the three also talked about childhood "dreams." Jun Hyun-moo brought up, "I heard your dream was to be an automobile designer," and Yeon Jung-hoon revealed his debut story: "I liked cars from a young age. Acting was a case of following a friend to Gangnam. At the time my father ran an acting academy in Yeouido; I went along with a friend and was cast by an entertainment agency." But he confessed, "My father strongly opposed the path of an actor," surprising everyone. KwakTube probed, "Then what if your child said they wanted to act?" and Yeon Jung-hoon replied plainly, "My wife is against it."

Meanwhile, Yeon Jung-hoon and Han Ga-in married in 2005 and are raising an 11-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son.
Recently on KBS 2TV Problem Child in House, it was revealed that both children are graduates of a gifted program, and Hong Jin Kyung asked, "I heard they were judged gifted on the gifted test and their IQs are high." Yeon Jung-hoon answered, "Our eldest learned Hangul and English on his own at 40 months old."
Above all, Yeon Jung-hoon said a natural environment helped more than special private education, saying, "When it came to our eldest, my wife read a lot of books to them and I often spoke English with the child. That's why they became very good at English." He added, "Without any special separate education, they began reading English books on their own," and confessed, "My 11-year-old daughter's English ability tested at the level of a U.S. high school senior."
