Actor Jang Seo-hee returns to KBS after 12 years. A poster heralding the prologue of immense desire and desperate revenge has been unveiled.
A Trap Called Desire, a new KBS 2TV daily drama scheduled to premiere on Aug. 10 at 7:50 p.m. (directed by Lee Dae-kyung and Jung Kwang-soo / written by Koo Ji-won / produced by Studio Bom), is a fate-restoration revenge drama about a woman whose life was taken by a murder frame who fights against enormous desire.
In particular, the fact that this is the comeback work of Jang Seo-hee, who has shown her presence by creating legendary hits such as "The Mermaid" and "Temptation of Wife," has been a hot topic even before the broadcast. In addition, solidly skilled actors including Jeon Hye-won, Seol Junghwan, Joo Saebyeok, Yoon Hae-young and Yoo Tae-woong all appear, raising expectations.
The group poster released on the 30th immediately grabs attention by showing the faces of 11 characters, including Joo Mi-ran (played by Jang Seo-hee) and Go Eun-seol (played by Jeon Hye-won), who live harboring various desires in the dark.
This poster symbolically depicts the tragic fate of protagonist Go Eun-seol, who lost everything. The image of Go Eun-seol with her eyes covered as if wearing a crown represents the desperate reality of having been framed and losing her life. In contrast, the "final villain" Joo Mi-ran and Kang Hae-ra, Cha Seok-jin, and Kang Young-hoon surrounding her form a tense atmosphere with cold expressions, foreshadowing the fierce struggles of intrigue they will wage to seize the single throne of Cheongma Group.
The production team pointed out the viewing points, saying, "The crown made of characters is a shape completed by greedy hands gathering, symbolizing the brutal intrigue of the characters trying to take the throne," and "Please enjoy it with various interpretations, as each character's expression, gaze and placement carry meaning."
They added, "The actors expressed the desires and conflicts of each character in their own colors, raising the completeness of the drama.
