Virtual idol mumune, who breaks down the boundary between virtual and real, will color this summer with an orange rock spirit.
Mumune, a member of the virtual idol group WISHes under Grim Production, releases her first solo song "Orange Flare" today (the 30th) at noon through various online music sites, embarking on her first musical challenge as a solo artist.
The new song "Orange Flare" is a hybrid rock track that combines hyperpop and pop punk. Bright, powerful chord progressions infused with the distinctive sounds of hyperpop blend with rocking guitar sounds to deliver a refreshing yet intense energy. In particular, skilled composer INFX, who has worked with ISEGYE IDOL, Billlie, and NiziU, and composer IRIS of MonoTree joined forces to complete a well-made song.
Famous streamer and singer Jo Maeryeok participated in co-producing, and members of his band Jo Agency joined the production in a rock band format. Through a special ensemble with a lively band session, mumune plans to present an overwhelming sense of being there that is differentiated from existing virtual music.
She likened her ambition to brightly color a world not yet touched by light with mumune's signature orange to a flare that shoots a signal to the world. The determination to fly higher as a light that blazes brilliantly after a long wait synergizes with mumune's characteristic bright and spirited energy.
There is plenty of visual delight as well. The music video, which smoothly mixes outdoor live-action shooting and virtual filming, harmoniously stages band performances set against open lawns and concert halls and mumune's dynamic performances, completing a distinctive mise-en-scène where reality and virtuality coexist.
On the eve of her first solo release, mumune said she was looking forward to being able to show a solo recording with a good song and that she prepared hard, adding that through this activity she wants to widely introduce herself, mumune, and WISHes to the world.
Meanwhile, mumune debuted in November 2024 as part of the two-member female virtual group WISHes alongside Isla. Since then, she has continued active communication primarily on Naver's streaming platform CHZZK, and notably proved her outstanding vocal ability by placing second consecutively in CHZZK's large-scale singing contests Sing Cup and VMIX2 among strong competitors. Mumune's first solo song "Orange Flare" is released today (the 30th) at 12 p.m., and a release showcase with Jo Maeryeok and the band will be streamed live on the CHZZK channel starting at 6 p.m. the same day.<
