The group KiiiKiii is raising anticipation for their comeback with distinctive teaser content reminiscent of an internet novel.
KiiiKiii on the 29th released concept photos for the mini third album WhyKiiiKiii (WhyKiiiKiii) with the "SWEET SOUR" concept, ahead of its release on Aug. 10, through their official social media channels and a promotional website. In particular, this promotion is planned as a website-based storytelling method that evokes nostalgia for the days of old minihomepages, drawing attention.
On the website is a piece titled "SWEET SOUR 'I know what you did this summer...'" written by author Lee Seul-ah. Set on a summer day away from everyday life, the narrator's subtle and complex feelings toward a friend who unusually draws their gaze are expressed in delicate sentences. It has been revealed that author Lee Seul-ah, who previously participated in many of KiiiKiii's song works such as "Han gae ppunin", "Delulu", and "UNDERDOGS", provided support, further stoking curiosity about the new song's narrative.
The concept photos paired with the text heightened immersion with two contrasting moods. They captured varied charms, from boldly styled moments enjoying "a deviation" through rainy streets and vintage shops to fresh youthful faces smiling at each other amid wandering while wearing neat school uniforms. Added to this was an instrumental (inst) track titled "SWEET SOUR" that evokes minihomepage background music (BGM), completing a synesthetic teasing experience.
Meanwhile, KiiiKiii's mini third album WhyKiiiKiii, officially released on Aug. 10, is an album that unpacks the bold question "why KiiiKiii" into six tracks with a 24-hour tour course concept. Having repeatedly proven their original planning and musical expansion, attention is focused on what fresh shock they will deliver with the title track "Pop Off Pop Off."
