'This shitty love' brings together acting masters including Jung Haein and Ha-young.
The Netflix series "This shitty love," released on Aug. 7 (Fri), is a romantic comedy about the sticky, heart-fluttering cohabitation of prosecutor Go Eun-sae (Ha-young), who has amnesia, and boxing coach Jang Tae-ha (Jung Haein), who insists he is her boyfriend. The "sweet-and-salty" romance that began with the inseparable fate of the two offers sweet excitement beyond cheerful laughter.
Above all, the meeting of Jung Haein and Ha-young, who will present an addictive "familiar taste" pure romantic comedy, draws drama fans' attention. The addition of Heo Sung-tae, who will inject a chewy tension with a touch of noir, is expected to enhance the drama's immersion. With anticipation for the synergy of Jung Haein, Ha-young and Heo Sung-tae, the photos released that day pique interest by showing the faces of the "yeot village family" who will further enrich the drama with laughter and emotion.
First, Kim Young-ok passionately plays Go Yeon-hong, Jang Tae-ha's grandmother, a traditional yeot artisan who has dementia. Jeon Bae-soo and Seo Jung-yeon play the head of Yeot Village's "Hong Boxing Gym," Hong Do-yeop, and his wife Do Jeong-hwa. With warm, kindhearted characters, they will act as solid supporters for Jang Tae-ha and Go Eun-sae.
The trio with an unusual presence also grabs attention. The Yeot Village members called "SES," Paeng Hee-ja, Jo Maeng-suk and Na Geum-hyang, are played by Jang Hye Jin, Cha Cheong-hwa and Kim Mi-hwa, who deliver irreplaceable performances that provide tiny laughs and show strong presence. Also awaiting are the stories of Lee Jae Won as An Gi-jun, Jang Tae-ha's classmate and Go Eun-sae's attending physician; Jeong Sun-won as Kim Gang-rok, Jang Tae-ha's right-hand man; and Choi Yoo-joo as Min Su-ji, An Gi-jun's partner, who will share Yeot Village's tumultuous daily life with Jang Tae-ha and Go Eun-sae.
Director Kim Jang-han said, "In the drama, the people of Yeot Village are portrayed not simply as good people but as characters who discover sides of themselves they would not have known without the new stimulus of Jang Tae-ha and Go Eun-sae, and grow together. I wanted to cast top actors you can trust so that that process could be expressed convincingly."
He added, "It was a warm set where people of similar sensibilities gathered, ad-libs were plentiful and laughter overflowed. From the strength shown to protect Yeot Village to the charming image of watching Jang Tae-ha and Go Eun-sae's sweet romance with the same heart as the viewers, I hope you look forward to the various entertaining elements."
Meanwhile, lead actors Jung Haein and Ha-young will appear together on a talk show ahead of the series release. They plan to appear on KBS2's Problem Child in House, airing in early Aug., to share various episodes.<
