The group ILLIT is creating a sensation by topping both Japan's physical and digital music charts.
According to the latest chart released (July 28), ILLIT (Yuna, Minju, Momoka, Wonhee, Iroha)'s second Japanese single I Got Your Back went straight to No. 3 on the daily singles ranking upon release. Following their local debut single Toki Yo Tomare, they once again secured a top position, proving their solid footing in Japan.
The title track I Got Your Back (Feat. JISOO, MOMOKA of HANA), unveiled on the 26th, took No. 1 on AWA's real-time rising chart immediately after release and has held the top spot for four days. It is also ranking at the top on major local charts such as Line Music, Spotify Japan, and iTunes Japan, showing strong streaming power.
In particular, the new release's success, combined with the long-running popularity of previous hits, resulted in a chart sweep on streaming charts. On Spotify Japan's daily top songs chart, starting with the new song, It's Me, the mega hit Magnetic, and the collaborative single ICONIC BY MISTAKE with LE SSERAFIM and KATSEYE all charted simultaneously, totaling four songs on the chart.
The music video, which highlights ILLIT's bright and bubbly charm as they transform into "magical girls," swept the YouTube daily popular music video charts, ranking No. 1 in Korea, No. 2 in Japan and appearing in the rankings of 29 countries/regions worldwide, including the United States (No. 22). On that basis, it climbed to No. 6 on the YouTube global comprehensive chart.
Meanwhile, ILLIT will perform the new song on NHK music show Venue101 on Aug. 1, and on the 7th they will appear on Nippon Broadcasting System's late-night radio HANA's All Night Nippon X (Cross). JISOO and MOMOKA, who provided strong support by featuring on the title track, will appear together and showcase special chemistry with ILLIT.
