The ownership of the penthouse worth around 20 billion won left by Taiwanese actress the late Seohee has reportedly been transferred to her husband Koo Jun-yeob and their two children respectively. However, the inheritance assets of the two minor children will be managed by their biological father and Seohee's ex-husband Wang Xiaofei as their legal representative.
On the 29th, according to local media such as United Daily News and Liberty Times, the ownership transfer procedure for the luxury dwelling Taipei Xinyi's located on Songyong Road in Xinyi District, Taipei, which Seohee owned during her lifetime, has recently been completed.
The penthouse was a dwelling Seohee purchased in 2016 for NT$362 million (about 17 billion won), and its current market price is estimated at about NT$460 million (about 21 billion won).
On the registration, ownership was inherited jointly with one-third each to Koo Jun-yeob and the two children. Because the two children are still minors, their biological father Wang Xiaofei is handling the inheritance and asset management procedures as their legal representative.
Seohee did not leave a separate will during her lifetime, so Taiwan's statutory inheritance rules applied. Under those rules, the estate is equally inherited one-third each by spouse Koo Jun-yeob and the two children.
However, there has been no change in ownership yet for Seohee's other luxury residence, the National Theater and Concert Hall on Songde Road in Xinyi District.
The National Theater and Concert Hall is currently occupied by the late Seohee's mother, Huang Chunmei, but whether she will continue to live there will be decided after legal procedures regarding the inheritance and disposal of the dwelling are completed. The property's inheritance status is still unclear due to unresolved collateral issues and mortgages.
Meanwhile, Seohee gained great popularity in Taiwan and South Korea after playing the female lead Shan Cai in the 2001 drama Meteor Garden, based on the Japanese manga 'Boys Over Flowers'.
Seohee married Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei in 2011 and had two children, but they divorced in 2021. Later, she reconnected with her former partner Koo Jun-yeob, and they remarried in 2022. Seohee died in early February last year after contracting the flu during a trip to Japan and developing pneumonia complications.
